Free Cell Phone Number Search Directories
Finding cell phone numbers is not the easiest thing to do
because cellular providers keep their customer files private for privacy
reasons. This is in direct contrast to landline providers who list individual
and business numbers in phone books for public use. So unless someone has made
their cell number available for public consumption chances of finding it are
limited, but there are a couple of options available.
The first are the few free cell phone number search directories that populate
the internet. To use their services you will have to enter your own cellular
number and some other personal information. In this way these directories are
populate by their users and once you have registered you can do as many searches
as you wish.
These free services will also give you complete control over the information you
submit to them. You can delete your information at any time and they usually
expire your information after a certain amount of time, unless you tell them
otherwise.
The National Cellular Directory is one such free cell phone number directory.
You can access it by
clicking here.
Wyty is another directory providing free access to cellular and VOIP numbers.
You can access its services by clicking here.
A good thing to do if whether you register with one of these sites or not is
register your cell phone number at the National Do Not Call Directory at
www.donotcall.gov. This keeps your number out of the hands of telemarketers and
other annoying sales people. If your number is used you can file a complaint at
the site against whomever has contacted you.
If you fail to find the cell phone number you are looking for using one of the
free directories you should then consider a paid service. These sites are the
most complete because they pay the cellular providers an access fee to list cell
phone numbers on their member sites. For the most part the fees these sites
charge to their members are minimal, in the $20-$40 range for unlimited
searches.
