How to Lookup Unlisted Phone Numbers
Many people have unlisted phone numbers simply because they
value their privacy. You may be one of these people but what happens when you're
trying to get a hold of someone and you need to lookup unlisted phone numbers.
The dog eared "Yellow/White Pages" does not list unlisted numbers so it will be
of no help.
Fortunately there are ways to find an unlisted phone number, some of which work
better then the others. There are a couple of pieces of information that can
help expedite your search and make it easier to find the phone number you are
looking for. Their full name, city, town, or area they are currently living in,
a current address or even an old address can help you hunt down what you are
looking for.
Your first choice, which normally has the least chance of working, is to do an
internet search using one of the big internet search engines such as Google,
Yahoo, or MSN. There are also some smaller search engines that can also garner
results but the big three seem to work best.
When doing an internet search for an unlisted number you can take the
information you do know and put it into the search box and see what kind of
return you get. To narrow the search put the persons name in quotes like so
"Jane Jo Doe" which lets the search engine know that you are looking for that
name just as it appears. You can also add city names or even addresses after the
persons name to help refine your search.
For this method to work the person whose phone number you are looking for has to
have left it, and their name, on a publicly accessible website somewhere on the
internet. The most likely places a search engine will find this information are
online classified ad sites, social networking sites like MySpace, and message
boards.
While this method is free your chances of actually finding an unlisted phone
number using it are quite low. Not to mention the amount of time you might spend
looking through web pages just to see if their phone number is there.
The quickest way to lookup unlisted phone numbers is through a membership with a
reverse phone directory lookup service. It does cost to use one of these
services but the charge is usually minimal, in the $20 to $40 range, for
unlimited access. You will have access to multiple databases that contain both
landline and cellular unlisted numbers. These data bases are updated daily,
making sure that their members are able to search for the most up to date phone
number information available.
